School Context
Lochside Elementary School is a newly constructed school in a semi-rural, affluent neighbourhood in the Saanich municipality. There is a diverse student population of 341. Students come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and ELL learners make up 20% of the student population. The school administration consists of a full time principal and a vice principal. There are 20 teachers on staff. The Lochside Elementary Parents' Advisory Council (LEPAC) is our parent group who actively supports the strong community and school spirit at Lochside. LEPAC is involved with many school initiatives to support and enrich student experiences.

Library Mission Statement: The mission of the Lochside Elementary School’s library is to foster an environment that encourages exploration and inquiry to ensure our students have the appropriate skills to be responsible, collaborative, engaged, and critical thinkers in the 21st century digital age of learning.
